Inspiring young women: AGME opens its doors to a future STEM professional

  • Women AGME and STEM studies

As part of an initiative led by Debegesa, a local economic development agency, to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) careers among young women, AGME recently welcomed a 1st-year high school student to its facilities to offer her a closer look at the reality of industrial companies and technical professions.

During her visit, the student had the opportunity to explore AGME’s activity as a manufacturer of riveting machines, presses, and special-purpose machines for automatic component assembly. She gained insight into the day-to-day responsibilities of technical professionals in an industrial environment and learned about the academic background and skills required to pursue such careers.

The visit was guided by a project manager at AGME, a female technical leader within the company. Her mentoring helped the student understand the key role women can play in engineering and technical departments and provided valuable information and encouragement for choosing a future in the industrial and technology sectors.

This initiative reflects AGME’s commitment to promoting equal opportunities and encouraging young women to pursue STEM studies. By opening our doors and sharing the reality of modern industrial work, we aim to inspire the next generation of professionals to make informed decisions about their academic and career paths.

AGME sincerely thanks the student for her interest and reaffirms its dedication to building a more inclusive, diverse, and innovative industrial future.
