AGME Receives SMC 4-Bar Factory Award for Energy-Efficient Machine Design

  • AGME es premiada por maquinaria eficiente energeticamente

AGME has been honoured in the "4-Bar Machine Design and Manufacturing" category at the 2nd SMC 4-Bar Factory Sustainability Awards. This recognition highlights our expertise in designing and manufacturing special-purpose machines and automated assembly lines that combine high productivity, advanced engineering and outstanding energy efficiency, helping manufacturers move towards more sustainable production.

The award-winning project, developed by AGME with the support of SMC, involved the design and manufacture of a custom automated assembly machine engineered to significantly reduce compressed air consumption without compromising production performance. By applying the 4-Bar Factory philosophy, the installation achieved a 35% reduction in compressed air consumption per cycle, resulting in a 16% reduction in CO₂ emissions associated with compressed air generation at the customer's manufacturing plant.

During the awards ceremony, SMC highlighted that implementing the 4-Bar Factory strategy can reduce energy costs related to compressed air by up to 50%, addressing one of the largest sources of energy consumption in industrial manufacturing. Representing AGME, Alberto Avalos, Special-Purpose Machinery Engineering Manager, presented the project and explained the engineering solutions implemented to optimise the energy performance of the automated assembly line.

This award reinforces AGME's commitment to developing industrial automation solutions, high-value special-purpose machinery and advanced assembly systems that deliver greater efficiency, sustainability and competitiveness. Innovation, bespoke engineering and continuous improvements in energy efficiency remain at the heart of our strategy, enabling customers to reduce operating costs, lower their environmental impact and build smarter, more sustainable manufacturing facilities.
